Happy Independence Day, America!

Although today all I can think about is my personal independence. I just moved out of the apartment in which I spent the last two years of college - rent paid by fatty student/parent loans and part-time work. Right now I'm in a temporary spot until I can figure out my permanent plans.

Real life is no joke. Loan money is spent (and will need to be paid back pretty soon), and the search for full-time work and an affordable living situation has consumed my life. The music is suffering, and it hurts to feel the momentum slipping away.

Change is good, though. And I'm taking on these challenges head-on. So no worries, I'm sure the founding fathers had no clue what they were getting into when they signed the Declaration of Independence, but they worked it out! I'ma do the same thing. Just give me a month...

Choppers and sirens were blaring outside my door all afternoon (I live a block from the UCLA Med Center). I think everyone will remember where they were when they heard the news of Michael Jackson's death.

The reaction says it all - he was more than a legend.
