You have to have the all-important skill of consistently psyching yourself out – making yourself believe in a future version of you that is more developed, or more talented, or more skilled, more famous, more wealthy, more amazing than you are at the present. It has to happen every day, and you’re constantly recalibrating as you work and grow and change and get to know yourself. This kind of faith can be exhausting, but when coupled with the necessary work ethic, it makes the difference between those who go far and those that don’t.

Today I’m believing in the better me.

first time at E3.

first time (and last time) eating 50 chicken mcnuggets in 23:41

first time skydiving (indoors).

first time recording with Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover

first time in NYC. also first time in a hurricane (Irene).

first time hearing my placement with Fat Joe + Chris Brown on the radio

first time at a pro soccer game. first time kicking it with YouTube sensation Alexa Goddard in person.

first dim sum.

first time mastering my own records produced by Itai and Adam aka Cloud City

first time performing on the Las Vegas Strip (@ The Cosmopolitan)
